Thrice - Vheissu

Holy crap, this is a real surprise. Vheissu. The latest album from Thrice sounds extremely interesting after just one listen. With influences from hardcore, punk metal, drum'n bass & alternative rock melted together, it's almost as if Neurosis, Isis, Tool and Radiohead are coming from out of the loudspeaker, at once. Intriguing.

Now I've gotta check out their other more punk & hardcore oriented previous releases "If We Could Only See Us Now" and "The Illusion of Safety".

Come Clarity: a decent In Flames album

After a couple of mediocre albums, Gothenburg metal pioneers In Flames finally get their act together with the forthcoming release Come Clarity. Come Clarity offers less dull & experimental "nu" influences, and sounds like a blend of the bands finest earlier albums (in the Clayman vein) combined with a lot of progression. Way to go!
